Chattahoochee Technical College President Dr. Ron Newcomb recently received the prestigious 2023 Dr. Robert A. Lipson Award from the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.
This award is presented to an outstanding visionary, a friend, a mentor and a leader within the community. Britt Fleck, the outgoing chair of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, presented the award to Dr. Newcomb at the Chamber’s 81st annual dinner held on Jan. 28 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Over 1,000 of Cobb County’s business leaders and their guests attended this event, which was hosted by Atlanta broadcast legend Monica Kaufman Pearson.
Dr. Newcomb was commended during the award presentation for his pivotal role in developing the Superior Plumbing VECTR (Veterans Education Career Transition Resource) Center at the Chattahoochee Tech Marietta Campus, a facility that is already making a significant impact for military veterans within the community. He also was recognized for playing a critical role in both the launch and growth of the Cobb Workforce Partnership.
