Chattahoochee Tech honored Mark Goddard on Wednesday, June 15, for his outstanding service as the college’s Board of Trustees chair. Goddard received an award of appreciation during the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation’s quarterly meeting with the Board of Trustees at the North Metro Campus.
“We are very grateful for Mark’s service on the Board of Trustees,” said Chattahoochee Tech President Dr. Ron Newcomb. “He has worked diligently to support our students and the college’s mission to meet workforce development needs.”
Under Goddard’s leadership, the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation awarded over $100,000 in scholarships and grants to deserving students during the previous academic year. The Board of Trustees also received Role Model Foundation Board Certification for the seventh consecutive year from the Technical College Foundation Association (TCFA). This distinction represents the board’s commitment to meeting the highest standards while helping to advance the college.
Goddard, of Cherokee County, is the director of commercial marketing for Cobb EMC and will continue serving as a member of the college’s Board of Trustees. New officers for the Board of Trustees include Rick Kollhoff, chair; Darion Dunn, vice chair; Jason Sleeman, treasurer; and Marty Hughes, secretary.
The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that partners with businesses, alumni and community leaders to support higher education for students through initiatives like scholarships and emergency funding.
