Pinning Ceremony Honors Chatt Tech Dual Enrollment Students at Marietta High School

Chattahoochee Technical College and Marietta High School honored eight Dual Enrollment students with a pinning ceremony for successfully completing the college’s Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program this semester. The event was held on Dec. 12 at the Marietta High School’s College & Career Academy.

These students included Kyla Buggs, Evelyn Elliott, Marisol Hernandez Delibrado, Alena Jones, Sadie Mamer, Dejah Paden, Alan Quezada, and Kayli Salazar. As Dual Enrollment students, they remained enrolled in Marietta High School while simultaneously enrolling as college students at Chattahoochee Tech. In addition to getting a jumpstart on their future by earning college credit, these students gained real-world training in the medical field from nursing professionals.

The pinning ceremony featured remarks from Dianne Hannak, Marietta City Schools Nurse Coordinator; CTAE Director Nakeesha Wilson-Wells; and Chatt Tech Student Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator Joe DiDomizio. The college’s Associate Dean of Nursing, Pauline Berry-Woods, led the students in reciting the nursing pledge, a statement of the ethics and principles of the nursing profession.

Also attending the ceremony were Dr. Grant Rivera, Marietta City Schools Superintendent, and Claudia Grooms, the Chattahoochee Tech Dean of Nursing, along with dozens of Marietta High School students and Dual Enrollment student family members.

“Dual Enrollment is for a really exceptional student, and the CNA program is for another level of student,” said Joe DiDomizio, Chatt Tech Student Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator. “With the rigor and difficulty of this program, what these students have achieved is really something to celebrate.”
